Knife sharpener – 2 in 1

A knife sharpener is a device specifically designed for sharpening knife blades. It consists of grinding plates with varying grits and an abrasive surface. Many of the knife sharpeners in our range allow you to hone and sharpen your knives. By moving the blade over the grinding surface, material is removed from the blade to create a new angle (sharpening) or to smooth your blade and correct misalignment (honing). The detailed instructions for this process are provided in the respective product.

This means you can easily hone and sharpen your kitchen knives at home.

Sharpening steels

A whetstone, on the other hand, is a steel rod with a ridged or smooth surface. It is used to smooth the blade and correct misalignment. When sharpening with a whetstone, the blade is drawn along the steel, removing small particles of material and returning the blade to its correct position. A whetstone is particularly suitable for the regular maintenance and care of knife blades to maintain their sharpness.

Which knives can be resharpened?

In principle, most types of knives can be resharpened. It's important that the sharpener or whetstone be harder than the knife being sharpened. Hardness is measured in Rockwell hardness (HRC).
